The Maryland Alpha Chapter of Phi Kappa Psi joined forces with Camp Kesem at
JHU for the annual haunted house fundraiser this October. Camp Kesem at JHU is a
student-run organization that offers both summer camp and ongoing support for
children whose parents have been affected by cancer. All of Camp Kesem’s programs
are free for families and are organized by college students at each chapter, who work
to raise funds and plan events throughout the year with the assistance of a national
staff. Founded at Stanford in 2000, Camp Kesem has now expanded to over 130
chapters in 44 states across the United States. Thanks to the efforts of Phi Kappa Psi,
led by brother and philanthropy chair Connor Caputo (JHU '23), the Camp Kesem JHU
chapter was able to raise $900 at this year’s “Haunted Carnival.”
